Puppy Jr. High

Taught by Kristina Ackerman, the third and final class in our Puppy Program is designed for puppies over 6 months of age who have already successfully completed Puppy Kindergarten and Puppy Manners classes.  Puppy Jr. High class will consist from 2 separate classes Impulse Control II  and Loose Leash Walking II.  Both classes are 1 hour long in duration (see schedules below). They can be taken together the same time or separately, in the order of your choosing. 

Impulse Control II 

We will continue to reinforce previously learned skills including Sit-Stay, Down-Stay, Come, Leave It and Go to Mat/Place command, and start to add increased distance and distractions, both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting). You and your dog will learn how to avoid door bolting (coming out from the car and home). Also you will learn the routine for near the door manners with visitors and polite meet and greet indoors and outdoors . You will learn how to set your dog up for the real life situations indoors and outdoors (weather permitting). Our goal in this final class is to arm you with the skills to continue positive reinforcement training methods with your puppy after their training is complete.  Usually our classes are held  indoors and outdoors (weather permitting).  

Loose Leash Walking II

This class takes Loose Leash Walking to the next level by adding more distractions, such as turns, slalom walks, passing people and dogs. Classes start are indoors and then move outdoors.
